phew..   long time since I have been here.. busy busy life and art happening. On the artyfarty side of things have started a Huhu beetle and a moth with blue tissue wings from on old dress pattern.. hope to do a series of those.. a play on the saying of moth-eaten cloths.. mothballed etc..

pumice heads

another monday..  a photo of two of the pumice heads I carve.. the larger one still being worked on. I like to keep the original shape of the pumice as much as possible. and the green lips.  hmm…   often I do the lips a soft wash of pink/brown but every now and then like a bit of drama.

GRAY MORNING HERE..  HAVE HAD SOME AWESOME WEATHER THO..  WENT TO BEACH SUNDAY.  GOOD FOR THE SOUL.  NO WIND.  THE SEA WHISPERING AND THE SKY A BLUE WITHOUT A NAME.

AM BACK TO CARVING FACES.  USE LARGE PUMICE.  SOFT AND EASY TO CARVE IN ONE SENSE BUT THE DIFFERENT TEXTURES AND SHAPES ARE A CHALLENGE..  lOVE IT. NO PLAN THEY SEEM TO BE THERE WAITING TO BE BOUGHT OUT. PICS LATER.
